Isten Hozott!

Isten Hozott! Literally "God has brought you" is a traditional welcome in Hungarian.  Unfortunately, the meaning doesn't really occur to the Hungarian people, according to the people we have spoken to.
This will serve as a great opening question to many people we meet when we get to Hungary.

Our Language Acquisition Training classes are now completed.  We had the opportunity to practice learning some other languages as a 'test' of how we can learn our new language as a learner directed instruction. We are getting more confidence in how we could be directing our current language teacher in our town, of which I am sure she will be relieved!

What we learned was how children learn languages and how to expand our American "box" of hearing and pronunciation. Children aren't burdened by the conjugation of vowels, etc..., they just LEARN what things mean (comprehension & context through repetition and kinesthetic learning), then later is the conjugation.  So, we are excited to put some of these tools into practice.

After having our brains, ears and pronunciations twisted & expanded, we found ourselves worshiping at church & being aware of where & how these sounds are being pronounced! (Gosh, was that a glottal stop aspirated "g"?) Yes, we learned if it was or not!! Again, we covet your prayers as we try to keep all of this fresh  & in the forefront before we get to Hungary.
